Since I have almost the smae motherbaord, i'm pretty sure you have an AGP slot. you wont be able to get a much better card for such a small price. I suggest to save up your money, becuase good graphics cards cost alot of money.
I don't know how things are priced in the UK, but you may get away with a GeForce 6600 or even an ATi X800. Alternatively, an ATi 9800 Pro/XT will play most current games atleast on medium settings and they play the older games extremely well. The cards are older technology but perform well enough.
if you have better than stock cooling on that barton you should be able to overclock it to 3200+ speeds without any voltage increases. this means setting the processor's FSB to 400mhz. there should be little if any heat increase.
Yes as long as your RAM is PC3200 (DDR400) then you should be able to overclock your 2500. As for your graphics card, you can get an X800 GTO AGP card, it might be a little bottlenecked by your CPU though, so if you want you can get something cheaper.
