My brother took my old hard drive and gave me a new one that has 300 gb. We installed windows and decided to split the drive into 3 partitions D, E, and F.
THen my brother downloaded and use this (which i have no idea what it's for, prolly a driver for something): Silicon Image SIL 3112 SARARaid Controller.

That was months ago when we installed windows, and since then my computer takes about 30 minutes to boot. Every time i try to boot up (this only happens when i boot up after i've shut the computer down, not restarting it), i would get to the screen that says primary boot device and secondary boot device. Usually the first time I try to boot up, the computer would wait and few seconds and output on that screen saying "Drive not found" on the primary and secondary, then it would go to the next screen and tell me to "insert system disk and press enter", but then after like 1-2 tries of restarting the computer, it would detect the drive, but then after that the computer would go to a screen saying "Verifying DMI pool data" or something, and then i would wait there for like 3 minutes and it would say "disk read error, press ctrl+alt+del to restart.
Then after restarting again the computer simply skips the DMI pool data screen and go straight to this loading bar ( depending on its mood :( ) , and then the bar would fill like 1/10 of the boxes and stay there unless i restart AGAIN, and the next time i restart i would be at the windows xp screen (with the moving thingie) and wait there for like 9 minutes, and then windows FINALLY loads up. But its not over, the screen takes like another 5 minutes to load up, and while loading the start button and that bar doesn't work and the mouse arrow would just freeze. And then later when i start to play games or load up chatting programs(this only happens the first time i try to load the program, the next time i do it it works fine), the mouse would freeze again, and the hard drive sounds like it processing the answer to the meaning of life. And after like 20 seconds or so the program will start.

Does anyone know what is happening? It never happened before i got the new hard drive and used that weird driver my brother downloaded. It's crazy because all this hecticness ( exept for the mouse freezing over and program loading which happens everytime i load up on the computer) only happens the FIRST time i try to turn on my computer after i shut it down. PLZ HELP THANKS!!!

The only thing i know about the new hard drive is that it is seagate, with 300 gb and it reads on the computer as "ST332062 0AS Disk Device"

    Well the seagate ST332062 is a 320gb SATA2 drive.

Is it the only drive you have in your PC? When you installed it did you add any PCI cards or anything?

A couple of things could have happened and its to do with the drivers.
Im assuming you have 1 drive in the system.

To use a RAID driver you need at least 2 hard drives.

If you have one drive then its useless and should be uninstalled.

Some motherboards dont support SATA drives but you can get PCI cards which allow you to use SATA drives. Your brother might have installed the RAID driver thinking it was the driver for one of those cards.

Or you do have two drives configured to look like one which is one type of RAID configuration. Maybe it isn't set up properly.

The long delay right at the beginning (where it sometimes says "drive not found") can be cause by jumpers. It could be that but the windows reboots seem odd if it is the jumpers. Those drivers cant be right though imo.

is the HDD attached to the primery or secondery IDE channel (i'm also assuming you only have 1 HDD and your also not using RAID, can you also check the boot order in the BIOS)

yea, its the only harddrive in my system. And i just remembered that we didn't plug that drive into that chain of cords that goes with the cd and dvd drives, and instead we pluged it with this PCI card of some sort (no idea what it is, never checked it), and the pci card i THINK was pluged again with the motherboardby another wire instead of being inserted into those slots.
If memory serves the primary boot device that was on the BIOS menu was SCSI or something. I tried to change that into HDD-0 and other stuff but it doesn't really help.

For this error...check and tell me how much Virtual Memory u have setted on ur computer
"Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
Click the Advanced tab, and then click Performance Options.
    Virtual Memory"
Also let me know how much RAM is in your computer...

    For this error Check [link=http://support.microsoft.com/kb/154690]This[/link].

    ======================================

Check ur Device Manager and let us know which HDD u've got in your computer...or if u give a screen shot of ur device manager with all the + signs opened, that would be gr8...
