I get this message "No Signal Input Check video cable" from my new LCD monitor that is attached to my laptop as an external display. It is not a PC problem - I tested with multiple PCs. It is also not a cable problem, I tested it with multiple cables. Please help!

try this: go to display settings and you should see two boxes in there, screen 1 & screen 2. select screen two and see if it then displays on your LCD monitor.

I already configured display settings for 2 monitors, but this does not help the situation at all. The light on the monitor remains amber and the message still persists.

think you answerd your own question, the monitor is faulty. if you've tried it with multiple laptops, pc's, vga cables and still get no display on screen. gotta be monitor then.
