Hello all,
I am a new member. My name is Jesse and I love computers! I recently reformatted my hard-drive on my Dell Inspiron 6000. It used to be Windows XP and now is a Novell Linux. I don't even have Windows XP on my system anymore... I deleted it. I like to read, write (currently working on a fantasy novel), mess with computers, and listen to music.

I would use Opera. Its like Firefox, but in my opinion, its more secure and much faster. Do not use AOL Explorer or Netscape. Those will mess up your system like a virus would. Try Opera 8.0.

:P

Jesse, what Linux distributions are you using or have used in the past?

Personally I use SuSE Linux on my main PC, but I've installed Ubuntu on my other mostly Windows machine. I only have Windows installed for my college work though ;)

[ot]I got my free CDs from Ubuntu yesterday :) I just love these guys. Especially when you consider they don't have the resources of say Microsoft and yet they are willing to send out a free and fully operational OS.
Sure you can get free CDs from Microsoft, except they are crippled trial versions of their terrible server platform. Hmm, I wonder which is better?

I LOVE LINUX!![/ot]

Well Megamaced,
I use SuSE on my laptop. That's my main choice for Linux. This is the first time I have ever used another OS. It's going to take some time getting used to I think. As for the browsers, I use both Opera & Firefox. Usually its firefox....but if I am in the mood, I choose Opera. I used to have Windows XP on my machine, but as I mentioned, removed it permanently. It was easier than I thought.

Regards,
Jesse
