Hello I am new to these forums and hope that I am going about the correct methods for getting my problem resolved. I apologize in advance for breaking any rules or not following the correct posting format.
My computer is a Sager 9280 aka Clevo d900f for further clarification it is a laptop. My computer came with a Nvidia GeForce Gtx 280m graphics which a couple years after purchase went bad. Going over my options I ended my search for a new graphics card on eBay. I could not find any 280m's that were reasonable (they either cost too much or were used) so I ended up searching further and found out I could buy a 560m for a much more reasonable price brand new.
Now to get to my problem, I took out my old graphics card, mounted the new one, applied thermal paste, etc and went to boot up my computer. My computer booted, but without ANY video not even the bios showed up. After trying several things I've come to the conclusion that it is detected to some degree because the computer will not boot at all with no graphics card inserted.
I would like to ask for any advice on how to get this new card working (if even possible). If additional info is needed please let me know. Thanks in advance.
