Well, make sure you do have the chipset drivers installed for the system as well as some Detonator drivers for that GeForce card (like 29.xx or higher). Sounds like you just don't have one or both of those drivers installed, and that will kill performance.

With XP, IRQ sharing is rarely something to be concerned about, as it only shows up that way. In reality there are virtual IRQ's used and just masked in a number.

    FoeHammer,

I am looking to get a new video card. It has an AGP 8 interface. I was trying to find out what mine was, as this is a two year old factory built (piece of crap) computer. When I did a search for " Intel(R) 82845 Processor to AGP Controller", this was one of the results. Later, I found out this was the Intel 845 family chipset, which has an AGP 4 controller interface. My question is how well does your new video card work with an older AGP interface? I know so little about these things, and didn't want to spend $150 on Ebay for a really good video card if the performance will be slowed down by this. Sorry if this is over your head; it just seems you had the same situation as me (except I haven't bought a new card yet). Anyway, cheers,

    peachsnowfalling.
