    Hi all.

I've got a weird network card. It fits in a PCI slot, but has an extra connector batch that stays outside the slot. I couldn't find info on such configuration anywhere on the net! My computer boots up with it plugged in a regular PCI slot, but then hangs up. Help anyone? :)

Looks like that would be a PCI-X card, the X stands for eXtended and is entirely different than the newer technology of PCIe/PCI-E aka PCI Express. Some PCI-X slots would work in regular PCI ones, but as to what reason, I don't remember and it was typically on server motherboards, which I haven't worked with before.
