CoolTechZone is reporting that AMD may skip DDR2 and go for DDR3 or even XDR. The source revealed that AMD could move to the DDR3 standard, assuming it skips DDR2, sometime within the next 12 months. And until AMD stays with DDR, there’s no drop in market share in this area. It will continue to lead as a strong standard. There's been speculation that AMD isn't going to jump from DDR for awhile, but rumor has it they may switch to a newer memory technology sometime in 2006. Anyway, the CTZ article can be had here.
