My sound has completely disappeared for about 3 days now and I don't know why. I checked the device manager and everything is in order... Please help! Thanks =)
Which sound you are using........ 1. Onboard 2. PCI Also would like to confirm couple of more things........ 1. Did you ckeck in your sound that there is no click on the Mute box either on Wav or Volume? 2. Check your speaker wires, are they properly inserted. 3. Check your Speaker power. 4. As you have already listed that you have checked the device manager, so I assume that there is no yellow sign in there.
Hi, I can't even check if it's mute or the power is on or off, because there is no "sound device installed" according to my computer. All the cables and such are plugged in too. I believe it's PCI...? How can I check?
Open up your case and see if there is any http://www.isellsurplus.com/productimages/MUL-L87386-1.jpg type of card inserted in http://www.ac-rennes.fr/pedagogie/svt/labosvt/technic/reseau/isa-pci.jpg type of socket or your sound ports coming out directly from your Mobo.
Hi, I used this program called Everest, and it tells me I have PCI. Device Description Type C-Media CMI8738 Audio Chip PCI Creative SB Live! Sound Card PCI Is this right? I hope this helps.
TO download drivers from C Media website......... [link=http://www.cmedia.com.tw/?q=en/PCI/CMI8738]Click here[/link] Also make sure that you have disabled the onboard sound device. You can do it through bios.
