Not getting the BIOS screen?

Hello all,

I have an ASUS A8N-E motherboard, NVIDIA GeForce 6200 Turbo Cache Graphics Card,
AMD 3000+ CPU, iBall Cabinet, Two 512 MB Transcend RAM modules and a SONY dvd writer. I don't have onboard VGA

My PC was working fine since 1.5 years. However today when I powered on, PC starts with "Two Beeps" and thats it. I don't even get to see the BIOS.

I have removed the RAMs and cleaned them and then again tried each ram individually in each of the four RAM modules and hence I fee there is no problem with RAM...Coz had it been a problem with RAM....then you continuously get beeps.......but thats not the case....In fact to be very precise......I just get one LONG beep and two SHORT beeps........thats it....nothing else.......Not even the bios..........Also the RAMs of that pc are working fine in my second pc.....so either it's cpu, cmos or video card....

BUT MY MONEY IS ON GRAPHICS CARD....

Does anyone know the beep signals...I mean every beep has it's own significance...so i want that chart........any url or online help will be appreciated......
 
I counted the beep codes......It's ONE LONG & THREE SHORT........

Also I found an URL telling something about Bios Beep Codes given below:

So I guess the problem is with Video....But I am not sure it's Video Card or Video adapter........Any ideas???
 
it could either be gfx or extended memory or something else, check your BIOS manufacturer & look at the link below
you may find it useful to remove & reinstall the gfx card

BTW: here's a list of beep codes and a brief description of what each beep code means, part of asus's site is down from here (UK), so, it is difficult to find out your BIOS manufacturer
 
I replaced my graphics card with my friends graphics card. But the same problem persists. One "LONG" beep and three "SHORT" beeps. Is my PCI express slot damaged?
 
I placed my friends PCI VGA in PCI slot and the computer now starts....So PCI Express slot is damaged and not the graphics card.

I will now use my PCI express Slot

Now I need to buy PCI VGA...I m getting one of the ATI Radon PCI VGA @ Rs.875...Is it worth?...Any online links to order or search PCI VGAs (Nvidia, ATI...etc)
