Hello. I am trying to reinstall all the files etc from my old Toshiba Laptop with XP. On to my nice new Toshiba with Vista. I have tried two methods with no success. 1 Transering all the info on to an external hard drive using the XP transfer wizard. Although the files etc are being lifted to the HD I can't install them or maybe I am not sure how to? 2 Have tried transfering from the XP using the Easy transfer system with the correct lead on to my new Tosh. I keep getting an error message on the xP "Can't scan the drive on the XP" Any suggestions please. Other than throwing the whole lot in the nearest river. Thank you
if you copying applications over to your new computer, then in most cases they simply will not work, you need to re-install to get them working.
