    Hi,

    I have a VAIO VGN B100BD notebook.
I was considering upgrading my ram, I noticed that PC2700 333MHz, the official RAM for my notebook is more expensive than some of the latter models. Any idea which would be compatible and which should I buy? If it helps here are specs:

    Intel® Pentium® M Processor 725
    (1.60GHz, 2MB L2 Cache)
    Front Side Bus
    400MHz
    Chipset
    Intel® 855GME

    Welcome to hardwareforums sleepyhead

You need to buy more of whatever RAM is currently in your laptop, there will most likely be a plate on the back of your laptop which you can remove to get to the RAM (there might be quite a few different plates, but one of them will hide the RAM!)

You can try to check out some stuff from Crucial or Kingston that would be just as good as whatever Sony's official parts are. You can probably get by with most PC2700 SODIMMs, but it might be worth it just to check out items that have been "approved" to work in the laptop.
