Hi there I am new here and I hope I am posting this in the correct topic if not a moderator of course can move it to the right one.

Well here's the thing, a couple of months ago I tried installing a new 2 gig stick of ram which I got in fine and all (was my first time installing any type of internal hardware) but I while installing it my finger slid a little bit across my graphics card, now I am told by many others that that could not have caused the issues I am having rather a coincidence that it started happening around the same time but here is the problems I am getting.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit and when I have the Vista theme on with full Aero animations and so on sometimes parts of the interface goes all flickering and can even go completely messed up to a point I will need to reboot.

Also when I play 3d games such as Vice City or Garry's Mod with Vice City the graphics are constantly lagging, freeing or flickering madly and for Garry's Mod similar issues but it causes more problems such as complete graphics mess up and freezing with needing to reboot pc but during that I get a warning of video hardware error and things get really bad like earlier I tried to play Garry's mod and had same thing happen and the display went all fuzzy like a bad tv reception and it kept getting worse until I powered down the pc then booted back up after a minute it was fine again.

Now keep in mind them two games were just an example it happens with pretty much all my games such as Sims 2, Bioshock and so on.

Below is a image of the error report I get in Vista's problems and solutions center, not sure if it is of any help in helping me sort this problem out but who knows.

I have tried changing drivers and all like I am on a latest beta driver now before I was on the latest normal release driver which I still got the issues on then I even tried reverting back to a previous driver before that one and I still got the troubles.

So besides getting a new card which I am doing in a few weeks I am just after a temp solution to fix this so i can play my games (I am getting a Sapphire HD4870 512mb) in the mean time.

Thanks hope someone here can help it is really driving me nuts just playing flash games and having Windows classic theme on.

P.s I have thought about changing to my onboard graphics card but for that I have to go in remove my current cad and stuff but I am not confident at all in touching the hardware again.

Yeah it is running and the temperature of the card never goes beyond 32. It is always around 27 - 32 Celsius.

Edit - And nothing is wrong with Windows Classic it is just I should be able to have it in Vista theme with no problems.
