A question for the older generations of users/gamers. This is the graphic card I recently bought used:
    http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2334#ov

And this is the MBO I'm using for the past 10 years without a hitch:
    http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=1717#ov

When I plug in the new GFX even at bootup some letters on the BIOS screens are not completely white because some pixels have a different color. There are some verticale strange lines on the Windows XP bootup screen and the screen is garbled in Windows if it doesn't freeze before. Sometimes it even starts switching off the output and on rapidly. In very rare cases it starts up normally or is messed up in BIOS screens but boots up to Windows normally and in those cases it works for a whole day in Windows without a glitch.

The PSU I use is not a standard made in China but a Tagan so I doubt it lacks power, but what else could it be? Can the BIOS on the card be so messed up? Could it be the lack of active cooling? Is it possible that it is incompatible with the MBO of the same manufacturer? Could it be set in BIOS?

I found this: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/76349-33-volt-video-card pointing to a power issue, I will play around with the PSU setup of cables and let you know. In the mean time if you had this issue and solved it, let me know!

    Thank you for your help!

It sounds like the card is going bad, or the drivers or not right or corrupted...Have you tried a different card ?
