hey guys The card in question is a GF4 MX440. I installed the nvidia drivers through automatix, and it failed... after reboot the screen turned grey and flashed with black lines (had to restore a xorg.conf backup). i then tried installing the drivers with apt, which had the same effect (only this time i edited the xorg.conf file to say vesa [i had changed it to nvidia]). any idea's why this fails? ubuntu Edgy, automatix2. thnx, impy EDIT: windows 2000 is having problems too, the screen goes blank (no signal) when i run diablo 2 or eve online...
