Ok ive heard alot about Nvidia's fake dx9 support but what i would really like to know is what makes the dx9 support of ATI and Nvidia any different? my mate wants to buy a new video card and i told him to go with ATI due to the fact that they have better DX9 support .. however the cards claim to support the same DX9 features .. so whats the diff?

ATI fully supports DX9 shaders and effects in hardware, meaning the video card is actually doing all the work to get the pretty effects. Nvidia however only supports all DX9 features due to drivers hacks... in other words, some DX9 effects are software accellerated. :swt: If software accelleration is the same thing as "Full DirectX9 Compliance", than I suppose my old Radeon 64DDR VIVO is also Fully DirectX9 Compliant. Crap, so's my little sisters integrated Intel i810!
