Nvidia to Aquire AGEIA

Yep, i'm pretty sure it was around the time AMD bought ATI, and AMD was thinking about buying ether AGEIA, or HAVOK, can't remember, but yeah, thats what it was.
 
Maybe the next-gen graphics cards of Nvidia will include a physics processor, when they aquire AGEIA. But that could be a huge strike against AMD. They're conquered in the CPU division by intel, and then also in the graphics division by Nvidia. But I don't care, I don't like AMD at all :)
 
It could also be a means of getting rid of an "issue" by simply buying them out. ULi was a great example. nVidia bought them out as they were becoming known to produce low-cost, high performing chipsets.

Ageia in itself would not survive in the long run. They're trying to create a market for which there isn't much demand...at least on the hardware level. You cannot name a game that cannot be played without a hardware physics card. Cell Factor may be the only one, but I don't believe that is out. It works, but Ageia has no other product to swim with. nVidia did them a favor by not letting them crash and burn. How the technology is implemented remains to be seen.
