Oblivion

I just got oblivion and it runs find but randomly when im in the middle of playing it will close, anyone got any idea on how to fix this?

 

will someone please try and help me, all i need is some sort of idea why it does this?

 

first off let me tell you that oblivion is really really weird, secondly i had the same issues. Then i will say there is a list on the read-me that comes with the game all about crashing. That said, make sure you have Bethesda's new patch, as well have the latest video driver from nvidia. Also does it only happen in Oblivion

 

Oblivion is still a little buggy. Don't feel too bad. Assuming you patched the bad boy you should be able to smooth that out hopefully. It could be a power related thing. What are the specs on your Power supply, brand, model, wattage, amps on 12v rail.

 

My Power supply of more than enought to run Oblivion, i have not downloaded the latest Patch tho so i will do that. Thank you very much!

wait, what about your graphics driver, has that been updated with in the last like month or so.

 

well i have newer Graphics Drivers than My friend, and he Plays it Fine, and i download the Update for Oblivion, and now it is getting worse, when i click Load Last Saved Game it closes so i really need help, i can't play it at all

 

have you tried re-installing oblivion

 

Yes, I tried this, and it fixed it so i can play it for like 10-15 min before it shuts off agian, but it still shuts off.

 

And have u check the computer temps after that??

 

Yes, everything is fine, nothing is running high at all.

 

I dnt know if there is any use of it but still check in your event viewer to make sure if there is smthing clashing or not hah:

 

well there are some things that say Error -- cdrom -- Event (7) and they seem to happen around the times that it closes, but then other times when it closes there is nothing.

 

RightClick MyComputer > Manage > Event Viwer... Check n see if there are errors after your game crash... hah:

That's what i love about Pc gaming, nothing is quite as straightforward as it should be.
How rubbish would it be if u installed the game and it worked with no probs.

well i think i fixed it, or at least it never quit on me for like 3 hrs of playing lol all i did was install a new Virus Protection Program (CA) and it got rid of almost 600 things on my comp and then it seemd to work so i really don't know but its cool

 

oh wait, i just thought of this. When i was having issues with oblivion, i did a lot of searching around google and i came across this thing, and it said something about oblivion doing alot of dumping and it building up, i don't remember most of it but you might try looking around google, as there are all kinds of issues with oblivion.
