Everything seems to be fine but I have a yellow excalamation mark in my device manager now, something about my "motherboard resources". Take a look in my first screenshot below (on the left). I have not too long ago reinstalled WinXP Pro after wiping the HD, and this wasn't there when I first installed all the necessary drivers and got my comp ready to go (like after I installed video card drivers, MoBo drivers, etc.). I haven't looked in device manager in a while so I can't really say how recently this developed but can't be too long ago. When I click on it to see the properties (look at other screenshot), it just says that "windows cannot load the device driver ... because there is a duplicate device already running in this system". I tried removing my ASUS MoBo drivers (via the add/remove programs) and reinstalling the drivers but it didn't go away. Should I just disable this "device"? Since it says there's a duplicate already running?
Right Click on that bugger device and uninstall it... Then click on the Action(top of device manager) > Scan for hardware changes, can u c that yelloow thingy again?
when i was using XP, if i ever found duplicate devices in device manager i removed all possible devices (you will probably not be able to remove the HDD controller (if Dual Fifo, i think) then simply reboot
