Just got it with my magazine, I'm going to install it to try it, but not on my main computer. Does anyone know if you can install Office 2003 & 07 Beta 2 at the same time?

i don't know, but probably yes, just don't associate file extentions with Office 2007 if it automatically associates you can set them back in control panel, folder options, file types or reinstall or repair your Office 2003

I will admit that Microsoft Office is a good product. But at the price, I'd rather stick with OpenOffice

Just installed it (on a computer that didn't already have office). It's not bad, but if it's going to be £300 upwards for the Professional plus edition I don't think I'll be buying it (unless I can get it cheaper off eBay)!!

If you don't already have a Microsoft Office installed, then I'd at least give it a try, if you do like me, I'd stick to the one you've got (I'm sticking with 2003 Pro on my main computer).

For the average user, there isn't much difference between Office 2000 and Office 2007.

If I was a Windows user and I wanted to buy Office, i'd rather buy a used license for 2000 then splash out god knows what for 2007

BTW, does Office 2007 require Windows validation because I am thinking of trying it anyway, but in WINE

unfortunally it does require activation, it for that reason i refuse to even try it, after all the hassles i've had with WPA (this XP i'm using now needs activating, but i'm waiting while monday cos i've ordered some TDK DVD-RW's from novatech for only 69p each

What does that have to do with activiation???

P.S I didn't have to do activation which surprised me cos I've never activated my other computer (It's only just had SP2 on), it did require activation to make sure I had a geniune office key.

Yeah, but are you using an OEM version?

All retail versions of XP require activation

check this i've had MORE than my fair share of problems with WPA so i'm binning Win full stop, the reason i need DVD-RW is to burn mandriva to a DVD-RW so i can install it

I never seem to have much trouble with XP (but now I've said that...), there again, I only have trouble with Linux on my laptop, not my computer. Btw, how do you do the off topic box? I can't seem to find it.

yeah, when replying you see the smilies on the right, well if you click [More] a bigger list of smilies will appear "Off Topic" is near the bottom

EDIT: when you mess with XP like i do, theres new hardware every couple of days or thats what XP thinks

i suppose i might be better with allowing phantom devices again
