Hey! Today I got my new computer's last component and installed all up but I didn't get a fast computer... Slower than my 5 years old computer? I have installed all the drivers and everything but the responce time seems to be very low. I am also getting "xxxxx not responding." from time to time. The harddrive is approx 10 years old... Here are the specs: (+5 MINUTES to open dxdiag btw) Code: ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 2/14/2009, 09:56:57 Machine name: JONI-SNSC6YGUSR Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-xxxx) Language: Finnish (Regional Setting: Finnish) System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: BIOS Date: 09/16/08 11:01:13 Ver: 08.00.14 Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz Memory: 1920MB RAM Page File: 422MB used, 3390MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ DirectX Files Tab: No problems found. At first thought, I'd point the finger at your hard drive! What hard drive does 5 year old computer have?
Aye especially if you have that sort of a page file of that size on a drive that old you'll be having problems. I dont think it is 10 years old however, you'd have been lucky to have a 2gig let alone a 40 (quickly works out how old he was 10 years ago) yeah i'm sure i was pimping a p90 with a 500 mb hard drive then.
