Ok, so I'm seriously not good with computers and the likes so heres the deal... If you have a motherboard that says it has 6 channel sound....it will play 2.1 speakers right? but how does it work?? Does it need a hole for each speaker on the back?? Thanks
If you want to use 2.1 only, attach you headphone jack in the green hole. The coloured holes are for 5.1/6.1/7.1, and the pink one is generally the mic. Your motherboard manual should explain most of it
First of all 2.1 means ........... 1 woofer with 2 speakers. where as speakers are connected with the woofer and woofer is connected with your computer. What is 6 Channel Audio ? There is a myth about 6 channel audio, what it is and what it does. A lot of people get confused between 6 channel audio and 3D surround codecs. 6 channel audio is not Dolby 5.1, or EAX or A3D. 6 channel audio means that the sound card can produce sound on six different channels - 2 front, 2 rear, one sub and one center. It is up to software applications to utilize all 6 channels. If the application you are using only supports 2 channels and a center - that's all you'll get. By default, most speakers with a sub will automatically use the sub when 2 front channels are being used. To be able to use 6 channels correctly you need a set of 5.1 speakers. You cannot use two separate sets of speakers and expect to get 5.1. It doesn't work like that. And remaining is according to the Merlin........ Just insert Pin in the the Headphone's Port.
