A while ago I donated old/spare parts to a friend to build up his 1st computer that's his own. His hdd had bad sectors and was stopping installation of windows or linux. So he went out and got a new hdd a couple days ago, set up his computer last night. I put F@H on as a service, he won't mind. specs- 2400+ sempron ASrock MoBo 512mb RAM 9600SE 128 230watt Allied power supply (which my surprise powers it through wolfenstein Enemy Territory and other games just fine) Classic beige case!
Thats great ninja, but a few things: 1. you say "he won't mind", if it's not your machine you shouldn't be loading services onto it without his permission (and when you explain it, you should tell him that all the advantages / disadvantages) - even if you know it won't harm, or if it's a computer being wasted CPU clock wise. 2.Games don't "require" more power from a PSU, its the hardware, and a PSU should always preferably be slightly more powerful than the system would allow at max power consumption. :good: 3. once u get his permission, *claps* Well done.
I asked him if he'd like to help out with medical research by using system resources that he isn't, he said ok
