Im not exactly sure that I can do this. Hell, I know I can't. But I had this weird idea. What if you built an open source mp3 player? Both the schematics and the firmware could be open source. I think it would be pretty cool. Well, thats my 2p worth.
Thats kind of what I was talking about. I meant an mp3 player like the ones Rio makes. The schematics on how to build it, and the firmware could be open source.
Exactly. Im just saying it would be cool for people to build there own mp3 players. I just don't exactly know how to go about doing it.
That's actually kinda technical...especially designing your own...unless you're an electronics engineer. If there's a schematic out there, then that would be more plausible---although you'd have to be a bit skilled with the soldering iron. I've never though of it, but I'll try to look out for it.
I did once see a site where someone had built there own, but it look like a brick! lol he has used one of his old HD, it would be heavy to carry around though! I dont see how this could be useful unless you use it to build a mp3 player for home, with a remote control, LCD display etc now that would be cool!
heres a link to some projects that people have done on mp3 hardware players... http://ee.cleversoul.com/mp3_projects.html
