Tuxmachines have given openSUSE 10.2 Alpha 4 the once over. There are a few bugs as you'd expect from an alpha, but the general signs are good. What makes me happy is KDE has received a bit of love in the form of a makeover It's got the new kicker KDE menu and a new 'start' button in the form of the SUSE logo. GNOME features the new menu from SLED 10. All things looking good then. I am definately looking forward to this release. Hopefully it will help me forget about the miseries associated with it's predecessor, 10.1 For the review and screenshots, see here
Looking good but KDE looks a little more gnome-ish than normal. I don't like gnome. I am looking forward to the reviews of this release and I'm sure it will be better than 10.1
You're right, their default theme in KDE makes it look flat and drab like Gnome. Then again, you can always configure KDE to look however you want.
True. But it's still in the alpha stages so who knows what can happen [ot]AT, given the choice, would you go for openSUSE or Kubuntu? [/ot]
Does anyone know how to get the menu items all to kdesu "application" rather than the crappy sudo style one in Kubuntu? Its not a big deal, but for those who change the sudo thing back, its nice to have menu items also changed. Although changing them all is a pain.
