Hi,
I'm contemplating getting a new GPU, specifically the Superclocked GTX460 1-gig. However, I'm not so sure that this would be the best move for me.
My mobo doesn't have a PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot; it has a PCI-E 1.0 x16 slot, so the card wouldn't perform at its maximum ability on my system. I have also read on forums that my mobo's chipset model (P45/P43) (Intel Pentium E5300 @2.60GHz) may have issues with the GPU, but also that NVIDIA apparently put out/are going to put out updated drivers to help fix this.
Does anyone has any input on this situation? Do you guys think that I should still pursue getting the GTX460, or do you think that a lower-end card would be a better bang-for-buck in my situation?
Thanks,
Tim
