I put together a new system in the beginning of the month. Last week I'd ordered and installed an SD Card reader. There is a conflict with my dvd rom that, when the card reader is plugged into the mother board, renders the dvd rom useless. While device manager recognizes the dvd rom and says it's functioning properly, the drive tray will not open and the drive does not show up under My Computer. As soon as I unplug the card reader from the mother board, the optical drive is fine and dandy. I'm not sure what I can do to go about resolving the issue, any help would be appreciated. The devices in question are: Rosewill RCR-IC002 74-in-1 USB 2.0 3.5" Internal Card Reader w/ USB port LITE-ON Black 24X DVD+R 24X DVD-R SATA Black 24X DVD Writer ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard I am running Windows 7 64 bit home edition. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Brad
What letters are being used by the SD card reader (D:\ E:\ F:\ etc.)? it may have taken the letter from your drive and given it to the SD card reader. also, what are your computers specs (you may have too many devices and not enough power, it can cause devices not to work properly)
