i put one as master and one at slave but when i do that the recorder wont burn any media and my system get freeze

the motherboard only have one IDE connector so i cant plug both as master

but when i plug the recorder only it work very well so i think is the motherboard
or maybe the power supply is doesn't enough powerful (only 350 watts)
please help me out with this issue

If you're experiencing other system stability problems as well as the optical drive malfunction then the PSU may be at fault but seeing as you've not mentioned any other problems I will rule that out.

It is a real possibility that the two drives simply aren't capable of being used on the same controller together so I would check any documentation you have for them or ask the manufacturer(s), that is assuming they both work well when connected independantly of each other, ie one at a time

the first thing to try is setting the drives up as C/S (Cable Select) set both IDE devices as C/S by selecting CS instead of master / slave

what thi does is allow the master / slave status of each devices to be determined by the location on IDE cable, the device at the end of the cable automatically becomes master & the device in the middle of the IDE cable become the slave

this may work because 1 or both IDE devices may be malfunctioning

BTW: you can leave both devices set to CS permanently, my IDE devices are set to CS because you don't need to move the jumper to switch a device from master to slave or vice versa, you just change the devices location on the IDE cable

hope this helps

BTW: Merry Christmas
