Hi,
Is it possible to overclock this cpu, without going overboard. When I was looking into it before, I noticed in the bios [ cpu voltage ] was set at either None or a figure like .2. Now I was told you have to be able to change the cpu voltage up with the fsb. I know my memory is running at 166 at the moment. But if it says None in the cpu voltage, how can I change it, as it will not give any other alternative. Now I am a Noob at this, so bear with me if I do get one or things said incorrectly, ok.

Cheers.

ah, I see you are on socket 754. Before you overclock anything, make sure your motherboard supports BUS locking, otherwise as well as overclocking your CPu, you end up oveerclocking other things and causing un-intentional damage.

no probs ;) basically, if you increase one thing e.g. your FSB I think it is, if the board has not got this "lock" option, (or whether it does it automatically) then you can end up overclocking your AGP bus, which by default is 66/67MHz and could end up at over 70 or 80, which then damages your board, and graphics card (If its a PCI-E board, its default speed is 100MHz respectivly)

Thank you Rimmer, once again. The board does seem to except overclocking, but you know, as you can see, I am not fully sure what I am doing and might end up regreting it, if I bugger it up. Cheers again.
