overclocking help...

this is my hardware status..
n dx diag it shows that my processor :p4 3.00ghz 2(cpus)
2.30 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 (its currently in hyperthreading)
16 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache



but in fact i notice that its very laggy nd stuff i cant fraps and play at the same time..and i was shocked because my friend has a computer and currently it was overclocked into 3.10 something and it was not in hyperthreading but he can fraps and play at the same time...so hyperthreading is bad???
i think it is only the 2.30 ghz running.. but when i checkd in the task manager the processor is cut into 2..


is there somthing wrong with my processor? and the thermal paste is new ,there is no problem with it..
and my video card is 256 mb and its brand new..

or is there a way to over clock it??? i tried overclocking it but when it reaches to 2.31-32 it will reboot expectingly

and btw.. i red a forum that p4 3ghz with htt can be OC to 3.20 with

notice that it has a 3.00 and the 2.31 ghz... and i can only max it out for 154 freq in the bios..

There's a lot of different things that can make your system lag with FRAPS...

First, video card, which you said you have a 256 mb card, but what is the make and model of it.

Another thing would be your system RAM. how much have you got installed?

Another would be the video size you are using FRAPS to record at. Most people use it at half size... make sure you are.

ahh... i have 768mb installed ram and for the v card the chip set is rad. 9550... can i OC my pc to 3.20?? because im very jealous of others that they can OC their pc to 3.20 and HTT enabled... :x: mine is 2.30 only and there is 3.00ghz and sorry i dont know what it means ...
