overclocking my CPU

    hey, i have a question on overclocking my CPU, what would i need to pull this off, and what exactly would this do for me? i have an AMD athlon 64 3000+ , if anyone replies, thanks- luke

    To overclock, you need to be careful first off. You'll need a good HSF for your CPU, a good brand not stock HSF. You'll also need good, overclcok friendly RAM. DDR PC3500 for overclocking is preferred.

    To overclock, you into the BIOS, and increase the CPU bus speeds to generally overclock. This article as it has an in depth look on 3000 Venice overclocking.

    A friend of mine overclocked his 3000+ venice on stock cooling but with AS5 and got it to the speeds of the FX-55. The A64's come with decent HSF's.
