I have read through a few of the thread's and I was wondering if there was a good tutorial out there on overclocking, I am still unsure of the process?
Theres a guide here on overclocking, although it isn't the very latest. It should help with the fundamentals of overclocking however.
If you're overclocking your CPU then there are some things you need to consider: *Quality of cooling (stock won't cut it, look for a good 3rd party cooler, water cooling is good but air cooling can provide some very good temperatures) *Quality of RAM You will need decent RAM to overclock, you might be able to change the FSB:RAM SPEED Ratio on the BIOS but if you can't then you'll need some RAM that will be able to take higher speeds. *Motherboard Can your motherboard handle overclocking? Some motherboards have more tweaks and adjustments available than others and some just don't have any options to overclock, so look for a good overclocker board. *CPU Some CPU's are better overclockers than others and there are some models which can go at higher speeds, although even with two of the same chips they may not reach the same speeds because each chip is different. Here are a couple of websites that may help you as well. http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/19970102/ http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=5&ArticleID=419 http://links.pimprig.com/index.php?cat=13 Hope they help! :good:
