Partition?

Egaladeist

I am the Eg Man
In computer management it says I have a " healthy system " 6.04GB...does that mean no discernable viruses or problems?

Above it says under layout "partition " what does that mean? I remember Big B talking about partitions in another thread.

:good: :)

Yeah, "healthy system" is simply in reference to the file-system, not the actual files themselves. You'll need third-party antivirus, anti-spyware, and firewall software in order to have a relatively problem-free system.

Thanks! I downloaded all three! Now I just have to upload them.
:good: :D

Uploaded the anti-virus, the ad-ware, and the firewall...but had to uninstall the firewall...because I couldn't get on the net...I "allowed" Firefox but then google wouldn't come up...so I uninstalled and got google back...cleaned up a few problems AVG and Lavasoft discovered but now my comp seems even slower than it was before...even though my systems been cleaned out??? I'll try to install the firewall again once I know a little more...don't think I did it right...went through the process till I got to the end where it says I'll need to re-boot..I don't know how to re-boot...so I backtracked and cancelled the installation...but it installed anyways!

I don't have any major problems on this system...I've cleaned out whatever problems did exist...I've got 33% unused space...my system is defragmented...I do regular disk cleanups...what could be the reason my browser is slow and I occasionally get broken images when a page is uploading...could it be that my system is only 6.04GB..too small to be fast? Or, the fact I'm on dial-up? Or, is there a problem I haven't discovered yet?

Sorry for the slow reply, I didn't see the open questions on this thread. Your problems could be RAM-related; anti-virus programs are resident applications, and therefore consume a bit of memory. How much system RAM do you have? Also, what type/speed processor?
