Yo there Im glad to join this great forum, so this is it, Hope someone could give me a hint. It is something starnge to me, I was using the pc no problem, surfing a burning a cd, and suddenly it turn off by itself, no warning, no signal, no beep, nothing and dont allow me to reboot, eve with the led of the Power supply active and the led of the front of the case in green as well, it doesnt reboot so I unplug the power chord and wait a couple of seconds, after several tryings it start again, check my logs, system reports and everything seems to be ok. Unfortunately I have no other machine to swap the supply (has suggested into other threads =o). Some specs its a com=paq machine thanks in advance to any sugestions!!! :good: Pentium4 524 (P) HT 3.06 GHz@ 533 MHz front side bus and Socket 775 ATI Radeon Xpress 200 for Intel Processors Motherboard ECS RC410-M/Asterope2-GL8E Alex
It could be overheating, although I find it unlikely if it's only just started happening and you haven't changed anything. Download some software called SpeedFan (free!), and keep an eye on the temperatures. They shouldn't be much higher than 50 (celcius). Lower is better. Thomas
thanks for the suggestion, has a note: thw first time it went off I was burning a cd, then starts twice again and lasta time on and nothing happen, then it wont start again. Im checking now if the fans are working, but I dont think as well, because it only last 2 or 3 secs on and fails until unpluged and anothers sencods of work. Thanks I will try the fan:chk:
Yo there folks, I want to try swaping power supplys but I found there is a diference between devices the one I used normally has 20 pins [not sure if there are pins, but the one trying t change has less connectors] I dunno how to adress this supplys and try to turn on pc without devices only mb and proccesor but it wont turn on anyway. Thanks in advance:chk:
