your pc is a good average system for the moment, if your cpu is 2.8GHz or 2.4Ghz HT then your dont need to worry for the moment as far as your system goes. the only reason i can think of your system slowing down is due to the amount of data on your hard drive, the longer your system goes without a "fresh start" (format) then the slower the system becomes.

if your pc hasnt had a format in less than 9 months you will find the pc starts to slow down as far as loading windows and programs go (depending on the the pc's usage) it all lies in your hard drive and not the pc in general.

if you dont want to do a format then you can try the following which will help improve performance:

-Uninstall ALL programs you no longer wish to use on your system
-Defrag your hard drive regulary
-Run MSCONFIG and make sure to reduce startup items to the ones you want (this will reduce RAM and speed of hard drive)

if your games are running slow thats a different kettle of fish all together so let us know :P

Is it not true that Linux OS doesn't slow down as much as windows does, the longer you "dont format" if you get me?
