    Hello,
I have about 2 years old desktop computer (Acer Aspire M5641). This is what happened: I was online while the computer froze with unusual noice (repeating beeps like it is trying to work but it is cycled in someting). Ctrl+Alt+Del was not working so I unplugged the power cord and after a while plugged it back and restart. It powers on with a few chirps like it want to start, both fans go on but there is no signal to the screen and no beeps. After few seconds there are no more chirps, only the fans are running.
The monitor is OK, the power supply should be OK (I tried a different power cord and a different outlet to plug it in).
I opened the inside (quite a bit of dust, especially around the fans), I reseat the CMOS battery. Turned it on - no change.
I removed RAMs - turned on - no change (no beeps) - turned off and put the RAMs back in.
I did the same with graphics card - no beeps when unplugged ad turned on.
I unplugged the hard drive - after turning on no chirps at all only the fans go on. Plugged back in.
I replugged all the wires (from USB ports etc.) - no change
I removed the heat sink and CPU - no beeps when turned on. I put the CPU back in and after turning it on I checked if it will heat up - YES. Turned off.

    Anything else I can do?
If I get the POST card to test it - will it work if the whole motherboard is bad?

    Thank you everybody for help!!!

First, are you sure the Motherboard speaker is hooked up? some aren't, and won't beep.
also, if the POST code reader will read (make sure to try all ports/plugs) then it will tell you whats wrong. if not ( again, try all ports) then it sounds to be the Motherboard.
