there isn't much i can tell you about my problem. I just installed Windows 2000 on my pc about a month ago. At first my computer wouldn't shut down when I went to start and shutdown and restart and everything didn't work either. But then a week or two later it would. Now it won't shutdown again and everything else on the shutdown menu doesn't work. It just stays at my desk top.

I have windows 2000 on my computer.
what can be causing this problem and how can I fix it?
    thank you.

maybe this would be of some help http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q266169/ ?

if not you might have to enable ACPI in BIOS if disabled and run a windows repair.

Also I'd suggest doing a windows update.
