Hi I'm pretty useless with computers so sorry if this is a daft question but is it possible to fix your PC when you can't get it to boot up ? My PC went down and now just won't boot up at all even when i put a system disc in, which is what it was asking for. But it gave me the error message that windowsroot2\system32\hal.dll was missing. I wondered if i could download something on my laptop then save it to a disc to put in my big PC or if there needs to be some life in your PC already. The PC seems to be trying to boot but doesn't find any drives, its just says unable to find driver 1, 2, 3 etc..... Ta for any help.
I found this little thread here - Error message: "Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem" See if you can get some ideas from it.... Good luck....
