    hello everyone!
I have a Pcchips m935dlu motherboard with sis650 chipset. I recently bought a new processor, Celeron D325, socket 478, as the motherboard is. But, it is not recognized by the motherboard, so the computer does nothing, it just starting the cooler and the hard drives, and that's it. I looked on pcchips site, and saw that my motherboard has a bios update from august 2003, and my processor is made in 2004. Does anybody know ahere I can find an update for my bios, more recently then the one from that site?? because I think if I update my bios, it willrecognize my processor.
    Thanks!

First off, there are two versions of your motherboard. 1.2 and 2.0.
It should say on the board itself which version you have.

Neither board actually supports the Celeron 2.5ghz 533mhz FSB chip. The only celerons they support are the 400mhz FSB ones. These are northwoods and yours is a prescott core. The only Pentium 4s it supports are Willamette and Northwood too.

Even if there is a P4 which is rated at 2.5ghz and a 533mhz FSB your celeron probably wont work because the Prescott core is quite different. The voltages are different for a start but its more than that. Motherboards have to specifically support Prescotts for them to work.

    Unlucky.

    My version is 2.0
Is there a way that I can use this cpu on this motherboard?? Or I must change the motherboard or the cpu, or both??

It doesn't appear so, thanks to the Prescott core power requirements. Alot of motherboards that were designed to run Willamette and Northwood cores were not able to run Prescotts.
