Hey I purchased a new graphic card the other day whitout knowing the diffence on gen 1.0A and 2.0 pci-e.. when i look at sites that sells motherboards i got a hard time indentifying if the motherboard runs PCI-E 2.0 or 1.0, is there a easy way to see it..? i've seen some motherboards saying PCI-E x16 and other x32 is x16 = 1.0 and x32 = 2.0? or does any1 have a link for a nice motherboard that supports PCI-E 2.0 and which a dual core due prosseor can work on.. im still kinda like a newbie to hardware and such.. so i just want to make sure that i dont purchase the wrong components and throws my money away on nothing i have use for ^^ hehe Thanks
Firstly don't rely on information that the website that you are buying from because sometimes it is in accurate. I always look at the official website of the maker of the mobo such as Gigabyte. I know you mentioned you want the mobo to support PCI E x16 2.0 but what mobo chipset you want? also what is the budget? I have suggested a mobo below: Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 This supports new gen 45nm processors and dual PIC-E 2.0 x16 click on the link above to look at the spec. Btw this is the top end mobo for the X38 chip set and it's very pricy around £160 but there are cheaper mobos just shop around. The cheapest one i found for you is: Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 it's around £130 but like i said you should shop around, click HERE for the full spec of this mobo
Dont know what kind of CPU your loooking at but with AMD right now the only Chipset that supports PCIe 2.0 is the AMD 700 series. With Intel the Intel X38-X48-Nvidia the 750/780i series
