:hi2: Don't know if this is the right place but here goes!! I need to edit some pdf files which were imported from another program (Family Tree Maker). At the moment, all I want to do is delete some unwanted info which the FTM automatically prduces-deleting a few words to create a blank side when two side printing & to delete a couple of words from a "Contents" page, automatically generated by the FTM. It's only a tidy up process really. I've got a pdf Editor (CAD-KAS PDF Editor 2.2 Pro) and read on Adobe. Problem: Whenever I delete, all or part, of a page, Adobe says: "There was an error processing a page. There is a problem reading this document (109)" I cannot read the subsequent modified document as a result. Can anyone tell me what,in my ignorance,I'm doing wrong or what I should be doing, please. Thanks
try saving a brand new copy of the PDF as something else on the ROOT of your hard drive (C:\), you're troubleshooting two types of possible errors there. error 1: possible file location error (due to weird folder names or curruption) error 2: the file may not be compatible with your PDF editor, because you're resaving it will convert it to ITS mode. if all fails try downloading Nitro PDF Professional free 30-day trial version download
Thanks Dwarfer. I'm not sure that I understand the technicalities but, since posting, I've found that if I delete the original "Save As",& create a new one by exporting to Adobe, it will then save to Adobe pdf. That means I can ignore the editor. To do my page blanking, I just create one just containing a full stop. To do my editing I copy the "Contents" page to a blank text page, which I can then edit on FTM & then discard the original FTM "Contents" page. A bit clumsy but, if it gives me what I want, what the hell!
