    Dear all

I have Intel d845gvsr motherboard with 256mb ram and the problem is when i switch on the system no display in monitor red led is
flashing in front panel. I opened the cabinet and removed the ram
and again i switch on it beeps 3 times with 2 sec time difference
and it stops the beep itself, i cleared the cmos by removing the
battery removing the jumper and the changed the working memory stick
in slot but the same indication is repeating.

When i remove the ram and switch on the system it start the power
on self test (POST). First test goes to ram if the ram is not
available it beeps for 3 times but if the ram is available it
does not beep and does not boot.

I cant understand whats the exact problem but i guess may be
the onboard video card is failure but im not sure.

Please let me know your ideas suggestion and is much appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Ranjith

Well, it definitely sounds like a memory issue. According to this page, it could be a few problems relating your memory stick. How many sticks do you have? If you only have 1 then try using a friends stick if possible.

Ultimately, it has to be either a faulty memory stick or motherboard.
