My old note book is going weird and strange. It starts up fine but there is no short cut icons not task bar displaying on the screen. The only thing I can view is the XP professional screen saver . Any advice will be very appreciated Thomas
is there a thin line at the bottom of your screen, if so your taskbar has become hidden or resized, put mouse on the line if your taskbar pops up then its hidden, icons on desktop is no problem, just an option in control panel, does the taskbar and start menu appear if you hold down Ctrl key while pressing Esc
Thanks for the advice So far there is nothing displaying when I press CTRL+ESC. So strange indeed, suddenly everything just gone hidden thomas
use the windows button + E, to bring up explorer then select control panel then dbl click "folder options" then click view tab and review the options, you should find an option that will restore your desktop, speaking of restore have you tried system restore that could fix all your problems
