I was copying a cd for a friend when i realise "why doesnt it show my cd-rw drive or cddrive?" I found out on device manager that they both had error code 19, something with the registry. so i decided to get a series of registry cleanup programs. all fine, butcdrom still not detected. so i tried system restore but for some reason every time itsaid incomplete. i thought the only option left was to repair windows xp or reinstall it fresh. so i start and it all goes fine, but then something hits me: asms files needed! it dawned that it was not reaching my cd-rom! so my prob gets worse. wot can i do? i got the cd with servie pack 1 and itdoesnt detect: dont tell me that microsoft supprt thing cuz i dont have windows 98 or me cds: is this computer ruined forever? DOOMED?
Firstly, calm down. Secondly, I suggest you check your cables and connections and try different cables.
my cd rom came up with all that I uninstalled all drivers for it then i unplugged it restarted plugged it back in and onli downloaded needed drivers and viola
