    Hi,

<Edit the following description is a fairly recent occurrence, up until a few weeks ago these problems were not happening.> If you need some more specs please let me know.

Hope someone can help me out with this, I have 2 dimm slots on my motherboard each with 512 mb ddram stick installed. Slot 1 works fine but when I plug either of the two ram sticks into slot 2 I get a number of various blue screens all related to memory when I attempt to run applications simultaneously. I have used memtest86+ on both sticks of memory in both slots, when plugged into slot 1 no errors are detected but when I plug either into slot two a number of errors are picked up, when I use both sticks simultaneously memtest86+ goes bezerk around test 6 and picks up several thousand errors. The correct amount of memory is always detected, but these errors happen without fail everytime slot 2 is used with a memory stick, does this sound like a faulty dimm slot? How would I attempt to fix this? Is this a replace motherboard scenario? How can I troubleshoot this further?

Thanks for any and all responses guys,
    C

    Hey,
Proprietary Dell i915G motherboard, stock motherboard with the Dimension 3100. Haven't ever attempted to replace a motherboard before and I wouldn't know where to begin. Any ideas?

    Cheers.
