At least from the looks of it. Read this: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=27809 As InQ said if it were possible to get that number to go way up to 200 then we'd be pretty set but Sony is going to have a very hard time making a lot of money of this console at the start, we all know how expensive BluRay is going to be. Let's just hope they don't skimp on anything now and the games are steller.
Sony are not going to make money from console sales of the PS3. They are making huge losses with the actual console just as the original Xbox. They get money back from game revenues.
Plus let's not forget that the 360 was rumoured to be very expensive when it came out but now it's dirt cheap. The PS3 may well go the same way, but the 360 has some REALLY expensive games, their games make the Gamecube prices look like kiddies pocket money.
Yeah good point, it's why I said they'll need a library of stellar games that people will be willing to pay $60+ for or (they'll be shipping on BlueRay obviously so that's a big cost in itself) Sony will be in hot water. Yeah $60 bucks is pretty pricey but I guess the developmental costs are getting pretty crazy too with the the work their putting into these launch titles.
