bought prey last night and when im playing it i notice a line at the top of the screen about 2 inch down like its refreshing slightly slower than the rest cos it dont pause or stick just abit slower anyone know why. i can run quake 4 ,doom3 and FEAR on full settings but with fear i could use some more ram cos it sticks every so often. im running a amd64 3800+X2 geforce 7600gt and 1gig ram.
I don't have that line issue - maybe try lowering refreshrates? And talking about sloppy performance - my computer (see My Computer) ain't quite top of the line (not even "middle" of the line, if you know what I mean), but I can run Doom3 and quake4 @ fairly high gfx without huge problems. Prey (F.E.A.R. included), on the other hand, kills my machine - framerate doesn't seem to go up even when I significantly reduce gfx quality... :dry:
Maybe the games need bugfixes to improve such problems, the latest 1.4 patch for Battlefield 2 for instance reduced the framerate, they were higher with the old 1.3 patch. F.E.A.R's engine is quite a system hog, maybe upgrading the amount of RAM in your system might help that issue edijs, you have only 512 which is becoming a bit too less these days. Try closing all unnescessary programs running in the background before you play F.E.A.R. or Pray. Greetings, Marcus
