I'm posting this thread, because I'm interested in other coutries. I wonder, what is the main prices web-site and PC magazine in UK and USA. Here in Ukraine, we have HotLine as the main web-site to check prices in Kiev and DPK/HPC (Home PC) as the main PC magazine. I want to know, which is for UK and USA. Maybe I'll concider going to UK some day, because I have an aunt there in Bradford. P.S. I just need to know the real "main" of those, not sub-main... thanks.
The main websites for US are TigerDirect.com Best Deals - Computer Parts, PC Components, Computers & Electronics and Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!
Uk i would say Overclockers UK Ebuyer - Cheap Computers, Laptops, Digital Cameras, TVs & more! Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK For good old blighty
computer hardware, components, systems and peripherals at the lowest prices from IT supplier Aria Technology Microdirect.co.uk is the UK leading retailer of quality computer components and electronics. Don't forget Aria PC or Microdirect. I normally look to them for my bits.
Hmm in the US, there's no "main" site or magazine for that, especially magazine. I think there are a few leading sites. In addition to newegg.com and tigerdirect.com, as people said above, I would also add amazon.com. As far as magazines go, I don't think there's any main ones at all. [ot]P.S. that's awesome that you're from Kiev, Ukraine. That's where I am from too!! Except I emigrated to the US like 11 years ago. But I lived in Kiev until I was 7. Как там жизнь?[/ot]
Hmm, that seams - Kiev, Ukraine is the great place for IT-TECH knowledge, because we have not so many magazines and sites like UK and USA, but we have main ones... what is very good/important, I think. Off topic: I'm glad for you, mate! Was is scary, to fly over the ocean for so long? LOL, I have an aunt in UK (in Bradford) and maybe I'll emigrate there some day, because they pay with BP (British Pounds). My aunt gets 500 of BP each week, because she's not working any more! That's a lot! Well, you're asking how it is in Kiev, Ukraine? Well, everything is fine I guess, except politicians... they're crazy. Still, I think I will be able to find a work about 1000~2000 of Dollars per month soon. By the way, how much is your income there? That's very important for me to know (where to emigrate, LOL). Still, I enjoy Kiev, Ukraine as my sweet home and we are able to buy things some how. You could check my new PC's configurations at my special thread in "New Built" section... maybe you'll give me some of your advices. Привет из Украины! Всего наилучшего! Привіт із України! Всього найкращого! __Apollo__
[ot]Haha, yeah, I visited Ukraine the summer before last (2006), and I got a taste of the crazy politics there... It was when the coalition from the Orange Revolution fell apart, and people pitched up tents all over the independence square, or whatever it's called, and by the parliament building. I don't remember the details for sure, but I still have pictures of the tents heh heh. Those politics are scary over there... Heh, naw, I wasn't scared flying over the ocean. It was fun. I remember we flew in an arc that took us north, and I could see Greenland out of the window. That was cool. About work, well, I'm still a college student. So I myself don't have income from working a job. I have a very nice scholarship from my university because the university I go to gives generous scholarships, and that pays for things. But I'm still far away from having a real job. (I don't even work a part-time job like many students do.) I will go to graduate school to get a masters and maybe ph.d. degree after graduating from here. Hmm but my parents together make about $120,000 per year, before the taxes get subtracted. And we're pretty much middle class. If that helps. You're pretty good at english, by the way, for someone who lives in Ukraine. I have relatives there who take some english classes but they're terrible at it. When they write emails, their grammar is completely messed up. So I get the impression that there aren't any good teachers of english over there lol. [/ot]
