i have a faint memory of writing about this before, but i looked in subscriptions and could not find it.

when i go on a game, i set the in game reseloution to 1024x768, and my normal resolution on the desktop is 1152x864, but when i exit a game, the resolution is changed from 1152x764 to the ingame resolution, why is this happening, i have the latest graphics drivers.

also with a game like hl2 it took me ages to get the in game resolution set to 1024x768 becouse it kept saying failed to set video mode, and some times a memory error came up.

i hate 1024x768 resolution on the desktop, so why does the ingame resolution end up on the desktop too, as i have not changed it in display properties, but when i look in display properties, it is at 1024x768, i have even tried to restore the computer to fix this problem, but i failed.

its more than anoying now, becouse, it wont let me play hl 2 at all, keeps saying could not set video settings, then sometimes the screen just turns into little rectangular squares, and is like a mozaic.

hmmm, if i instal the latest official radeon drivers, or omega drivers, then there is still a problem, but if i install the drivers i got wit my graphics cars wich are version 8.4 or somthing, and are months old, then half life 2 works perfectly.

ok i found out what was causing my reseloution to stay same as game, i dont know if someone knows why it would of caused it but i would like it if someone could tell me why it happend.

well i got this program called sysmetrix from wincustomize.com, it has lots of system statistice on and starts from start up, now if i have it on and go into a game with it on it makes reseloution stay same as in game, but if i turn it off, i can change reseloution withought restarting computer, and games work ok.

i dont understand how a small program could do this, perhaps someone could shed some light on it :\.
