Problem with booting from the CDROM drive

Hi all,
This is about an old IBM PC. It has a SCSI adapter. It has an IDE CD-ROM drive. I tried to boot from the cdrom , but it fails to do so ( it complains that the OS is missing). I cannot change the boot sequence from the BIOS ( there is no option for that), but there is an option in the SCSI config utility. But there, i have to specify the boot order of SCSI devices, in this case I don't have any. How can I make this computer BOOT from the CDROM drive. Thank you in advance.
 
go into dos and select boot from cdrom and unselect all other devices. if that doesnt work check the jumpers on the drive and check the cable. check power too. Its trying to boot from hdd. and something is wrong and it cant boot from hdd. i wish you luck!
 
If you can't change the boot order, upgrade your BIOS.

If you can't change the boot order to make the SCSI adapter
before your IDE subsystem, then this could really be a problem.

Have you already attempted to seek out a BIOS upgrade for
your mainboard?
